A CALL TO ACTION IN RESPONSE TO FOOD INSECURITY – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MISSISSAUGA ON (December 08, 2021)

The Streetsville Christmas Breakfast fundraiser this year was a HYBRID format
consisting of a Drive-Thru + VIP Dine-In experience with celebrity Chef, Massimo Capra.

The event was held (Saturday December 04th 2021 @8am-11am) in benefit of Eden Food For Change at
the prestigious Mississauga Convention Centre located at (Hurontario/Derry Road).

The Streetsville Christmas Breakfast fundraiser is an annual tradition presented by TSOC (www.tsoc.com)
in collaboration with community stakeholders including First Responders, Businesses, Frontline Workers,
Local Artists, Service Organizations, Media, and the Public in the spirit of giving. This event continues to be
organized at a ($0) cost due to generous sponsorships + in-kind donations ensuring (100%) of the funds
benefit the charity. The compassionate community made a remarkable combined donation totalling more
than ($48,000) during a (3) hour period.

Our Cause

Eden Food For Change is the local food centre serving the Mississauga community in need through access to fresh and nutritious food. Eden Food For Change also provides education and training through an in-house learning kitchen. Members benefit from hands-on experience preparing healthy meals and gaining transferable skills in preparation for employment readiness.

Our History

The Streetsville Christmas Breakfast was founded in 2018 by local resident and entrepreneur (Imran Hasan, President at TSOC – Transglobal Systems Of Canada) to help raise awareness and funds for his local Mississauga Food Centre, Eden Food For Change.


The original goal was to raise ($2,000) by inviting (100) concerned citizens and community stakeholders to participate in a buffet dining experience in exchange for a ($20) donation. Local businesses (Drake, A Firkin Pub + Coffee Culture) offered the venue and gourmet refreshments to ensure a ($0) cost event and (100%) of the proceeds would benefit the charity.

The news of this collaboration reached the attention of a local financial institution (Meridian Credit Union) who generously offered to match the ($2,000) fundraising goal. The inaugural event was held (Saturday, December 08 2018) and the outcome exceeded expectations by raising ($5,100). A hybrid model was introduced in 2021 which served (827) DRIVE-THRU + (240) DINE-IN meals raising more than ($48,100).

This annual event continues to evolve under the guidance of health professionals at Region of Peel despite the COVID-19 challenges. The success of this initiative is due to the continued support from First Responders, Small Businesses, Service Organizations, Local Musicians, Volunteers, and the Public. We are grateful to our community partners and concerned citizens for their generosity and support.
