Our Cause

Eden Food For Change is the local food centre serving the Mississauga community in need through access to healthy, fresh and nutritious food. Eden Food For Change also provides education and training through an in-house learning kitchen. Members benefit from hands-on experience preparing meals and gaining transferable skills in preparation for employment readiness.

Our History

The Streetsville Christmas Breakfast was organized in 2018 by local business (TSOC – Transglobal Systems Of Canada) in collaboration with ‘Twas the Bite before Christmas to help raise awareness and funds for Eden Food For Change. The idea was to create a community dining experience to help bring like-hearted people together in the spirit of giving.

The event was organized at ($0) cost to ensure (100%) of the proceeds would benefit the charity. This was accomplished through the partnership with local franchise (Drake, A Firkin Pub) that graciously hosted the event and in-kind donations received from local food sources and help from community volunteers.

The original goal was to raise ($2,000) by requesting (100) friends to make a ($20) donation and join at a breakfast buffet. This news of this initiative quickly reached the local branch of (Meridian Credit Union) who generously offer to match the goal and together the community raised over ($5,100).

In 2019, the goal was exceeded by more than ($12,000) through the partnership with local franchise (Coffee Culture) and additional matching donations by local businesses and community stakeholders and participation by first responders.
